Monika Wisniowska, a vocalist from Wroclaw, started her career when she was very young, surprising everyone with her original voice. At her fourteen, she was the most titled teen in her region and was given a scholarship by the president of Wroclaw.
Being a graduate of Jazz and Light Music School in Wroclaw, she developed her talent instructed by a lot of brilliant artists, such as: Marek Bałata, Grażyna Łobaszewska, Ewa Bem, Ewa Uryga, Naomi Isaacs, Sibel Kose, Jerzy Satanowski, Anna Serafińska, Jadwiga Gałęska-Tritt.
She has appeared in several national and international festivals as well as in the 4th edition of Polish Idol, performing in the semifinals. In 2006, together with Tomasz Basel, Monika decided to create her own band, ‘Coffee Break’, which has collected plenty of prizes and fans. The band plays energetic soul, pop and funky, and has already recorded its first album.
Besides performing on various stages, Monika cooperates with Opole Gospel Choir and the Wellness Sound. She was also invited to sing in Paris by the Polish Embassy, when Poland was making efforts for Expo 2012.
Experts say that Monika has a warm but strong voice, coloured by lots of emotional shades. When she sings, she is so natural that she attracts all types of listeners. “You are the truth, don’t miss it”, she heard once. This is her motto.
She also sings in a duet with Michal Bober, a singer from Opole. ‘Listen’, as the duet is named, has already been appreciated by the jury of ‘Pejzaż bez Ciebie’ contest and got the Audience Prize. In July 2011, Michal and Monika are going to represent Poland in Jurmali, Latvia, singing at ‘New Wave’, one of the most prestige festivals for young talents.
